Kristen Sowers

Kristen Sowers, PT, MSPT

Kristen Sowers has been practicing outpatient orthopedic physical therapy since earning her Masters of Physical Therapy from New York Medical College in 2000. She joined the Virginia Center for Spine and Sports Therapy in 2009. Kristen has clinical expertise in all areas including treatment of the neck, back, shoulder, pelvis, extremities and post-surgical rehabilitation. She has particular interests in sports related injuries and pediatric sports therapy with a focus on gymnastics, tumbling and cheer rehabilitation

Kristen is a manual therapist and has received her manual training and clinical education from the Institute of Physical Arts. She has also served as a new graduate mentor clinical instructor to many physical therapy students throughout her career.

Kristen enjoys spending her time outside of the clinic with her family. As a mother of two, she is highly involved with her children and their respective recreational activities. Kristen is passionate about health and fitness and enjoys water sports, weight training, functional movement training and core stability training. She incorporates her knowledge of fitness into her children’s lives, her patient’s lives and her own, with the goal of educating and improving overall health, wellness and function.
